§ THR CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERI should be happy to lay on the table the names of the Commissioners it they were fixed upon; but, unfortunately they are not, My noble Friend the Chief Secretary for Ireland, whose absence we deplore, has informed me that he has beer in communication with a number of individuals whose names would be calculated to give confidence to Parliament and the country; but I regret to say that he has received a great many answers declining the request that the writers should serve on the Commission. The correspondent on the subject is still going on. Our engagement was to place the names on the table provided they had been fixed upon but, as this is not the case, we are no able to do so.
