said, he wished to ask the First Commissioner of Works, Whether his attention has been called to the practice of permitting Sheep to be washed in the Serpentine in the same spot where bathing is allowed; and, whether it is true that last year an express promise was given that the pollution of the water from such improper practice should not be again sanctioned?

, in reply, said, the practice complained of was contrary to the regulations, and had taken place without permission.
