HC Deb 19 July 1866 vol 184 c1070
MR. PACK - BERESFORD

said, he would beg to ask the Chief Secretary for Ireland, What are the qualifications necessary to hold the situation of resident medical superintendent of a County Lunatic Asylum in Ireland; and had the situation of resident medical superintendent to the Carlow Lunatic Asylum been filled up; and, if so, who has been appointed?

LORD NAAS

said, in reply, that the office of medical superintendent of the Carlow lunatic asylum had been filled up by the late Government. A person holding the position of medical resident superintendent must be a qualified physician and surgeon.
