said, that as the usual Motion for the adjournment of the House till Monday would not be made that evening, because it was probable they would have to meet on the following day, he begged to give notice that he should in the course of that evening request the indulgence of the House in order to enable him, in justice to the officers of Her Majesty's Dockyards, to make a statement—and it would be a very brief one—in explanation of allegations which had been made against them.
