HC Deb 01 August 1866 vol 184 c1885

(Mr. Hardcastle, Mr. Dillwyn, Mr. Baines.)

[BILL 11.] COMMITTEE.

Order for Committee read.

MR. HARDCASTLE,

in withdrawing the Bill for the Abolition of Church Rates, said, that he had not pressed his Bill beyond a second reading, believing that no useful purpose would be gained by so doing, and being desirous in every way in his power to support the Bill of the right hon. Gentleman the Member for South Lancashire. That, at the same time, in the altered circumstances of the case, he reserved to himself—speaking on behalf of those with whom he acted, as well as personally — the fullest liberty to introduce the same Bill, or any other Bill with the same object, in a future Session of Parliament.

Order discharged: Bill withdrawn.
