SIR JAMES FERGUSSON

said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for War, Whether he has considered the position of the quartermasters of militia, particularly with a view to a revisal of the present regulations with respect to retirement?

THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON

stated, in reply, that the retiring allowances of the quartermasters of militia were not provided by regulation, but by the Annual Pay and Clothing Act, and when that was introduced he would state whether he was prepared to propose any additional allowance.
