§ MR. SPEAKERacquainted the House, that Mr. Hugh Adair and Mr. Hassard, Members of this House, having consented 99 to serve as Referees on Private Bills under the Standing Order of last Session, he had appointed those two Gentlemen to be Referees, together with Mr. Rickards, his Counsel:—Mr. Speaker added, that he need not say how great a sacrifice of their time and case these Gentlemen were prepared to make in taking upon themselves the laborious duties of this office.
