HC Deb 11 March 1864 vol 173 c1827
VISCOUNT PALMERSTON

I believe it is well known, that that valuable and deserving public servant Sir Rowland Hill is about to retire from his situation at the Post Office. He is entitled to a pension, which in the usual course would lapse at his death; and I now, therefore, move that this House shall, on Monday next, resolve itself into a Committee, for the purpose of considering the grant of a pension to Lady Hill for her lifetime, in the event of her surviving her husband.
