HC Deb 05 March 1863 vol 169 cc1066-7
MR. HIBBERT

said, he wished to ask the President of the Poor Law Board, Whether it is his intention to move for the reappointment of the Select Committee on the Administration of the Poor Laws; and, if so, whether he will defer the introduction of the Bill to continue the Poor Law Board until such Committee shall have reported to the House?

MR. C. P. VILLIERS,

in reply, said, it was his intention to move for the reappointment of the Select Committee on the Administration of the Poor Laws. When the House demanded the appointment of that Committee, it appeared to desire that the result should be known before the usual Poor Law Board Renewal Bill was introduced. He should, therefore, in compliance with that desire, wait for the Report of the Committee before he brought in the Bill.
