FERRANDsaid, he wished to ask the Secretary to the Admiralty, Whether the Board intends to rescind the Regulation, bearing date the 16th day of October, 1861, relating to promotion in the Royal Dockyards? The Regulation in question prohibited all promotion in Her Majesty's Dockyards after the age of forty-five.
§ LORD CLARENCE PAGET—In answer to the hon. Gentleman, I have to say, that there is no intention on the part of the Admiralty to rescind that Regulation.
