HC Deb 04 March 1861 vol 161 c1307
MR. CONTNGHAM

said, there was a question of which he had not given notice, but which he still thought he might put, attention having been called to the appointments made by the Government. He perceived that a son of Lord Monteagle had been appointed to a lucrative situation, and he wished to know, Whether it was in acknowledgment of the eminent services which that nobleman had rendered to the Liberal party in the last Session of Parliament?

VISCOUNT PALMERSTON
