HC Deb 07 May 1860 vol 158 cc752-3
MR. CRUM-EWING

said, he would beg to ask the President of the Board of Trade if he intends to bring in a Bill on the subject of Trade Marks, and false markings of measurements; and, if so, when?

MR. MILNER GIBSON

said, a Bill on the subject had been prepared, and it had been the intention of the Government to introduce it in a short time, but there was a Bill before a Select Committee of the other House of Parliament for the amendment and consolidation of the Laws relating to forgery; and he was informed that there was an intention to introduce a clause into that measure in reference to the forgery of trade marks. That being so, the Government would wait to see that Bill before they brought forward their own.
