HC Deb 08 March 1860 vol 157 c121
MR. CRAUFURD

said, that upon an assurance he had received from the right hon. Member for Kilmarnock (Mr. Bouverie) that the Select Committee on the Corrupt Practices Prevention Act was inquiring into the subject, he wished to withdraw the Motion of which he had given notice, to the effect that the Committee should be instructed to take evidence as to the working of the system of protected voting in the Australian colonies, with a view to its effect in checking corrupt practices at elections in this country.
