§ MR. MACKIEsaid, he would beg to ask the Secretary for the Home Department, or the Lord Advocate, upon what grounds instructions had been issued to the Queen's Remembrancer to limit the Allowances in Exchequer, under the head of "Unreported Criminal Prosecutions?"
SIR GEORGE LEWISsaid, he was informed that, in the opinion of the Lord Advocates in the late and the present Government, it was desirable to introduce the change, in order to get rid of unnecessary expense.
