HC Deb 14 May 1857 vol 145 cc285-6

LORD ELCHO moved for leave to introduce a Bill to alter and amend the laws regulating the Medical Profession. After what had passed yesterday he would make no remarks on the details of the measure. He wished the House to understand, how- ever, that the Bill was not his own, but was one which had been referred to a Select Committee in 1856, had been amended by that Committee, and by them reported almost unanimously to the House. He asked for leave to bring it in solely that the House might judge between it and the Bill of the hon. and learned Member for Newcastle (Mr. Headlam).

Leave given.

Bill ordered to be brought in by Lord ELOHO, Mr. CRAUFURD, and Mr. BRADY.

Bill presented, and read 1°.

House adjourned at a quarter before Seven o'clock.
