HC Deb 30 July 1857 vol 147 c711
MR. ESMONDE

said, he wished to ask the right hon. Gentleman the Chief Secretary for Ireland, if it is the intention of the Government to introduce in this or the next Session a measure to provide for the General Registration of Births, Marriages, and Deaths in Ireland?

MR. H. A. HERBERT

said, it was not the intention of the Government to introduce a measure of that kind during the present Session. The subject, however, was one of great importance, and his attention should be given to it.
