HC Deb 04 August 1857 vol 147 c1078

Order for Committee read.

House in Committee.

MR. BUTT

said, he intended to move an Amendment affirming that it be an instruction to the Committee that they have power to make provision in the Bill to enable Peers of Ireland, not being Lords of Parliament, to serve in the House of Commons for any county, city, borough, or place in Ireland, for which they shall be duly elected, and for which they shall be willing to serve and continue to serve. At that late hour, however, he did not think it right to move the Amendment, but would press it at some future stage of the Bill.

Bill passed through Committee.

House resumed. Bill reported, without Amendment; to be read 3° To-morrow.
