HC Deb 04 February 1856 vol 140 c150
MR. HUTCHINS

inquired of the Government whether it was its intention to nominate a Select Committee to consider the best mode of establishing a road between Pimlico and Pall Mall; also, whether any correspondence had taken place on the subject between the Chief Commissioner of Works and the Home Office?

SIR GEORGE GREY

replied, that there had been no official correspondence, with the exception of a Report which had been received from his right hon. Friend (Sir B. Hall), containing two plans for the construction of a road which would be suitable for the public convenience. Plans and estimates had been prepared with that view, but it was not intended that they should be adopted without first being submitted to a Select Committee of that House; for which Committee it was the intention of his right hon. Friend to move at an early period.
