said, he would now bring forward the Motion of which he had given notice, relative to the mode of counting the House.

Motion made, and Question put— That after Mr Speaker has taken the Chair, the House shall not be counted until the doors are locked and the Division Bell rung, as upon a Division, and that all Members being at the time of such count within the House, or in the Division Lobbies, upper Corridors, or Chair Lobbies thereof, shall be counted with the rest of the Members present.

The CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

said, at the end of the last Session of the present Parliament, and at that hour in the morning, it was not for them to change the rules of the House.

Motion put, and negatived.

The House adjourned at a quarter after Two o'clock.
