The LORD ADVOCATE moved the appointment of the Select Committee on the Registering Births, &c.; and Marriages Bills (Scotland).

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Lord Advocate be a Member of the Committee."

MR. HUME moved the substitution of Mr. Alexander Hastie's name for that of the learned Lord.

Amendment proposed, to leave out the name of "The Lord Advocate," and insert the name of "Mr. Alexander Hastie," instead thereof.

Question put, "That the name of the Lord Advocate stand part of the Question."
