Colonel Dawson Damer

appeared at the bar, with a Message from Her Majesty. Upon being called on by the Speaker, he said that Her Majesty had received the Address of that House on the 1st of this month, to which he had been directed to present to the House the following Answer:— I have received with much satisfaction your Address, in which you assure Me that you will make good a sum of money to be granted for the relief of the sufferers by the late calamitous Fires at Quebec. I have given directions that a sum, not exceeding 20,000l. shall be applied for this purpose.
