The Usher of the Black Rod advanced to the Table, and summoned the House to the House of Lords, to hear the Queen's Speech.

The Speaker,

accompanied by several Members immediately proceeded to the House of Lords. After a short absence the right hon. Gentleman returned, and announced that the House had been to the Lords to hear her Majesty's most Gracious Speech which the right hon. Gentleman read (see ante, p. 1301), and then informed the House that the Parliament was prorogued.

The House then rose.
