The order of the day for the further consideration of the report on the Factories Bill having been read,

Lord J. Russell

said, that in consequence of the noble Lord the member for Dorsetshire (Lord Ashley) having declared his intention of opposing the bill if it were not extended to silk mills, he (Lord J. Russell) had determined to withdraw the bill.

Report to be taken into further consideration that day three months.
