• Came into existence on 1 April 2002 as a result of the Review of Public Procurement which recommended the merger of the Construction Service and Government Purchasing Agency into a single directorate. Supports the Procurement Board in developing and reviewing procurement policy and carries out an executive function in relation to the procurement of supplies, services and works for the public sector in Northern Ireland.
