• New offence proposed under the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Bill 2005-06 (called corporate homicide in Scotland only). Before this Bill's proposal, the prosecution of a company for manslaughter by gross negligence, a common law offence, was often referred to as corporate manslaughter.
