• Announced in Pre-Budget Report of December 2005 to implement key recommendations from Philip Hampton's report 'Reducing administrative burdens effective inspection and enforcement'. Following review in 2011, LBRO ceased to operate as a non-departmental public body and its functions were moved to the Better Regulation Delivery Office, an independent body within the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, on 2 April 2012.
