• Originally refers to mechanism for local authorities to support provision of new social housing by Registered Social Landlords. Grant discontinued in this format from 1 Apr 2003 - Commons Hansard 400 c82WS, 05.03.03. Transitional arrangements continued for completion of agreed grants. Grant then re-established under same name, social housing grant, but administered differently as subsidy to housing associations to develop capital projects, allocated, paid and administered by Housing Corporation rather than local authorities.
