• Formed on 1 April 2011 by the merger of Animal Health and the Veterinary Laboratories Agency. Executive agency of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA). In 2014 merged with the part of FERA responsible for plant and bee health to become Animal and Plant Health Agency.
