• Islands in the Caribbean Sea. Formerly an autonomous part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Aruba seceded in 1986 as a separate country within the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the rest of the Netherlands Antilles was dissolved Oct 2010. Curaçao and Sint Maarten became autonomous countries within the Kingdom and Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba became special municipalities of the Netherlands.
