Definition

• Executive agency of the DCA, established 1st October 2007, replacing the Public Guardianship Office. Not to be confused with the Office of the Public Guardian for Scotland, established under Adults with Incapacity (Scotland) Act 2000 (SP). The Office of the Public Guardian supports and promotes decision making for those who lack capacity or would like to plan for their future, within the framework of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
