- The Northern Ireland (St Andrews Agreement) Act 2006 provided for a Transitional Assembly to take part in preparations for the restoration of devolved government in Northern Ireland. The Transitional Assembly first met on 24 November 2006. It was dissolved on 30 January 2007 when the election campaign for the current Northern Ireland Assembly started. Devolved powers were restored to the Northern Ireland Assembly on 8 May 2007.
