• Announced in ministerial statement on National Security, 14 November 2007. CH 467 c667-72. Enforcement and patrol functions were taken on by the UK Border Force on 1 March 2012. Responsibility for casework, in-country enforcement and removals remains with the UK Border Agency after this date. On 1 April 2013, divided into two units - UK Visas and Immigration Directorate and Immigration and Enforcement Directorate.
