Definition

• A civil order, issued by a magistrate. For voluntary, negotiated agreements see Parenting contracts. Orders are issued either in response to criminal conduct or anti-social behaviour, or as a result of an application by a Youth Offending Team. Created under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, and revised under the Powers of Criminal Courts (Sentencing) Act 2000 and the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003.
