Definition

• Entitlement of all 4 to 6 year olds in LEA schools to a free piece of fruit or vegetable each school day. Originally called National school fruit scheme, but renamed in September 2004 when vegetables added. In Northern Ireland the scheme is called Fresh fruit in schools scheme.
