2006 — 27th June 101 Scottish Standing Committees

(1) For the consideration of bills certified by the Speaker as relating exclusively to Scotland and committed to a standing committee or bills committed to a Scottish Standing Committee not more than two standing committees may be appointed.

(2) Government bills shall have precedence in one such standing committee.

(1) For the consideration of bills certified by Mr. Speaker as relating exclusively to Scotland and committed to a standing committee or bills committed to a Scottish Standing Committee not more than two standing committees may be appointed.

(2) The first Scottish Standing Committee shall consist of thirty members representing Scottish constituencies, who shall be nominated by the Committee of Selection in respect of each such bill and to whom the Committee of Selection shall have power to add not more than twenty members.

(3) The second Scottish Standing Committee shall consist of not less than sixteen nor more than fifty members to be nominated by the Committee of Selection, of whom not less than sixteen members shall represent Scottish constituencies.

(4) In nominating members the Committee of Selection shall have regard to their qualifications and the composition of the House.
