1971 — 8th March 62 Nomination of standing committees

(1) In nominating such Members the Committee of Selection shall have regard to the qualifications of those Members nominated and to the composition of the House, and shall have power to discharge Members from time to time and appoint others in substitution for those discharged:

(3) (a) the Scottish Grand Committee,

(4) (b) the Scottish Standing Committees,

(5) (c) the Welsh Grand Committee, and

(6) (d) a standing committee for the consideration of a bill on report,

(7) the Committee of Selection shall nominate not less than sixteen nor more than fifty Members to serve on each standing committee for the consideration of each bill committed, allocated or referred to it.

(8) Provided that, for the consideration of any public bill relating exclusively to Wales and Monmouthshire, the committee shall be so constituted as to include all Members sitting for constituencies in Wales and Monmouthshire.

(1) Save in the case of-

(8) (i) for the consideration of any public bill certified by the Speaker as relating exclusively to Scotland or of a public bill (or part of a public bill) ordered to be considered by a Scottish public bill committee, the committee shall be so constituted as to include not fewer than sixteen Members representing Scottish constituencies;

(9) (ii) for the consideration of any public bill relating exclusively to Wales, the committee shall be so constituted as to include all Members sitting for constituencies in Wales;

(10) (iii) for the consideration of any bill a draft of which, or of parts of which, has been considered by a committee of this House, the Committee of Selection shall treat a Member's membership of that committee as one of the qualifications to which it shall have regard.

2022 — 30th November 86 Nomination of general committees

(1) Save in the case of-

(2) (a) the Scottish Grand Committee,

(3) (b) the Welsh Grand Committee,

(4) (c) a committee for the consideration of a bill on report, and

(5) (d) a European Committee,

(6) the Committee of Selection shall nominate not fewer than sixteen nor more than fifty Members to serve on each general committee for the consideration of each bill allocated or referred to it, or for the consideration of instruments (whether or not in draft) referred to it.

(7) In nominating such Members the Committee of Selection shall have regard to the qualifications of those Members nominated and to the composition of the House, and shall have power to discharge Members from time to time and appoint others in substitution for those discharged: Provided that-
