	answer text	<p>The Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) is leading work to address risks from lithium-ion batteries used in e-bikes or e-scooters including prioritising removal of any unsafe or non-compliant products from the market. For example, last month OPSS issued Withdrawal Notices to stop 20 sellers and 5 online marketplaces from selling batteries linked to serious fires. OPSS also works closely with Local Authority Trading Standards including through a co-ordinated system of product safety checks at the border.</p><p>We are not aware of any product safety prosecutions relating to these products that have been brought to date, but prosecution remains an option for any serious breaches of product safety law.</p>
