<p>A licensing regime for the sale of fireworks already exists, with retailers needing a licence to supply fireworks outside of the traditional firework periods. Retailers may still need a licence in the selling periods, depending on the quantity they wish to store and sell. We have no current plans to introduce further restrictions.</p><p> </p><p>Local Authorities and the Police have a wide range of powers available to them to tackle the misuse of fireworks. The Government has not undertaken an assessment of their effectiveness but considers these powers to be proportionate and effective in protecting the public from undue harm.</p>
