	answer text	<p>The Government of Sudan continues to consider ratification of the Convention Against Torture (CAT) and the Sudanese Ministry of Justice are currently undertaking studies in this regard. We continue to urge them to do so as a priority. Most recently the need to ratify the CAT was discussed, along with the need for wider progress on human rights, during the UK-Sudan Strategic Dialogue in November 2018. In March 2018 the British Embassy in Khartoum also funded a workshop for senior government of Sudan representatives that focused on the steps needed for Sudan to ratify the CAT.</p>
