Mr. McNamara: To ask the Secretary of State for Defence when Sapper Philip Eden was found dead at Carver Barracks, Wimbish on 22June 2003; when the gun log records that a rifle was issued to him; at what time he went on duty; when the scene of the incident wassecured; when he was pronounced dead; when the police were called to investigate; how many shots were fired; what steps were takento conduct forensic examination of the weapon; when the next of kin were notified; and if he will make a statement.
