<p>During May 2023, the Wales Office was fully focused on delivering the Government’s key priorities for Wales; supporting economic growth in Wales, strengthening and sustaining the Union and Wales’s role within it, and increasing the visibility of the Government’s commitment to Wales.</p><p> </p><p>This included visits by the Ministerial team to highlight UK Government investment in Wales, including in grassroots sporting facilities; meeting key Welsh businesses, including Airbus; launching the Government’s National Semiconductor Strategy with the Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology; engaging with local partners following our success in securing two freeports for Wales and continuing to work closely with local authorities to ensure our £790 million investment in City and Regional Growth Deals in Wales delivers jobs and economic growth.</p><p> </p><p>The Wales Office is keeping our ways of working under review, taking into account a variety of factors including current performance.</p> |
