<p>The number of equality impact assessments completed by each Department is not collected centrally.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Under the Public Sector Equality Duty (the Duty) all public authorities are required by law to ensure that they have due regard to certain equality considerations when carrying out their functions.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Departments are individually responsible for the monitoring of their own equality assessments and their compliance with the Duty. An ‘equality impact assessment’ (EIA) may be produced. However, this is not a legal requirement.</p><p> </p>
