	answer text	<p>[holding answer 13 May 2013]: Central and local Government is investing £1.2 billion in the Government's broadband programme, which will see a transformation of broadband services in the UK by 2015, contributing significantly to meeting the EU 2020 targets. A combination of commercial and public deployments will see much greater availability of superfast broadband; 100,000 more premises each week are gaining availability; and around 50,000 connections to superfast broadband are being taken up each week.</p>
