Louis Braille to feature on the new £50 note with the correct ‘Braille’ for 50.
background
We would like to see Louis Braille, the visually impaired creator of ‘Braille’, on the new £50 note alongside the correct ‘Braille’ for £50.
additional details
Royal Mint took a big step for the visually impaired when they released the new £10 by adding a tactile service. But an opportunity was missed to make the tactile note the most common form of reading for visually impaired people, Braille. With another new note coming into circulation shortly, we believe as parents of a visually impaired child it’s important that she is able to read the notes she’s handling. Lets also get the creator of Braille on the note, the blind himself, Louis Braille.
