	answer text	<p>The department is responsible for the disability benefits that provide a passport to the Motability scheme, which enables disabled people in receipt of a relevant benefit to lease cars, powered wheelchairs and scooters. The Motability scheme includes electric vehicles in its offer. Disability benefits are increased yearly in line with CPI. It was announced at Autumn Statement that benefits will rise by 6.7% in April 2024. Motability Foundation is an independent charitable organisation that is wholly responsible for the terms and the administration of the scheme together, with oversight of Motability Operations and this includes support for leasing electric vehicles.</p>
