<p>The Strategic Programme Review is a continuing process to ensure that DFID staff, partners, and programmes, are fully prepared to meet the challenge of climate change. In Bangladesh, the DFID office has reduced carbon emissions by 16% since 2009-10 (well on track towards a target of 25% by 2014-15). Staff have developed the knowledge and skills to ensure all programmes are effectively designed and implemented to minimise climate impacts and help build resilience in Bangladesh.</p><p>Programmes are being designed to be more resilient to climate change impacts—for example, primary schools in vulnerable areas of Bangladesh, are being built to double as cyclone shelters.</p> |
