	answer text	Future employment levels in the UK oil and gas industry will be dependent on how successfully the industry is able to capitalise on the UK's remaining reserves potential. The Government will continue to support the industry in maximising economic recovery of the UK's oil and gas resources. However I have no current plans to commission an independent assessment of the potential number of people that could be employed by the industry in the UK up to 2050.
