<p>The DECC-Technology Strategy Board Offshore Wind Component Technologies Development and Demonstration scheme was launched in November 2011 with a budget of up to £15 million to provide grant support for testing and demonstration of devices and innovation in component technologies for large offshore</p><p><?notus-xml column=441?></p><p>wind systems. The scheme is intended to develop technologies which can reduce the cost of offshore wind energy.</p><p>Since November 2011, there have been four calls on the scheme and DECC has committed funding of more than £13 million to 17 projects to date. These include projects including: wind turbine generators and drive</p><p>trains; concrete, steel and floating foundations; fabrication techniques; offshore access, subsea cabling and turbine testing. Summary information about the projects which have been announced so far is given in the following table. DECC will announce details of the further projects to be supported by the scheme once the detailed grant offer arrangements have been finalised.</p><p><table><thead><tr><td valign="top">Leadcompany<br /></td><td valign="top">Projecttitle<br /></td><td valign="top">Grantaward(£)<br /></td></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td valign="top">AquasiumTechnologyLtd<br /></td><td valign="top">RapiFab—Rapid,cost-effective fabrication of offshore wind supportstructures<br /></td><td valign="top">769,600<br /></td></tr><tr><td valign="top">BladeDynamicsLtd<br /></td><td valign="top">CompositeHub Technology Demonstrationproject<br /></td><td valign="top">842,630<br /></td></tr><tr><td valign="top">DavidBrown Gear SystemsLtd<br /></td><td valign="top">PowertrainGearbox Solution for Large Scale Offshore Wind EnergyProduction<br /></td><td valign="top">1,228,200<br /></td></tr><tr><td valign="top">GravitasLtd<br /></td><td valign="top">Pre-productiondemonstration of Gravitas Offshore Limited's concrete gravityfoundation demonstrator for offshore windturbines<br /></td><td valign="top">556,250<br /></td></tr><tr><td valign="top">HVPDLtd<br /></td><td valign="top">IntegratedOffshore High Voltage.
