	answer text	<p>It is disappointing that a buyer has not yet been found for the Coryton refinery. This reflects a general overcapacity in the European refining sector. An assessment of the economic impact on the area has been commissioned by a task force set up by Thurrock council. On the supply chain, the south east is served by other supply points that enable suppliers to develop and implement existing contingency plans to maintain their supply operations.</p><p>The Department has kept in regular contact with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills about developments at the refinery.</p>
