The Department for International Development (DFID) spent £14.77 million on aid to Yemen between February and June 2011.Of this, £9.88 million was spent on humanitarian assistance (a further £6.36 million of approved funds are still to be disbursed); £3.23 million on improving education; £1.21 million on strengthening the Yemeni state's ability to deliver basic services, including policing and justice, and management of the economy; £0.41 million on improving access to basic services for poor and vulnerable Yemenis, and £0.04 million on Yemen policy research. |
